Slicing cuts an image into pieces. Each piece exports as a separate file, so each file must have a name. Further, if an image has more than one frame, each piece in each frame is a separate file requiring a unique name.
Fireworks names each slice file upon export. You can accept the default naming convention, change the convention, or enter custom names for each slice:

Choose Auto-Name Slices to name the files using any of several general naming conventions. |

Deselect Auto-Name Slices and enter a name for each slice in the Slice Name text box. |
